Package Design: High Tide Australian Rum (2022)

For this package design project, I came up with an imaginary brand and had to create the packaging for one of their products that company would potentially sell. So, I came up with an alcohol bottle design and it's packaging. The idea is that High Tide Australian Rum is a brand that uses funding from profits to support the local wildlife of certain regions. In doing so, this would raise awareness of the amazing animals that are around the world. 
 

Some considerations while creating this rum bottle design was choosing a favorite animal of mine to highlight (octopus) and creating a branding that reflects the uniqueness of that animal. Moreover, give consideration to how that highlighted animal might change the flavor of the rum with each new potential future design. Because I've featured the blue-ringed octopus, I decided to label the rum as spiced blueberry, vanilla, and coconut flavored. The spiciness reflects the venomous octopus's sting, and the blueberry, vanilla, and coconut notes reflect the tropical environments this sea animal is found in.

The bottle topper octopus arm is resin-printed and attached to the cork cap. This was an extra step to making the design of the rum bottle stand out and could serve as a collectable item. A smaller detail on the box is the holographic vinyl that is attached to the octopus rings and make up the lettering on the backside of the box.
